Indian Air Force AFCAT 01/2026 Recruitment for Flying & Ground Duty Posts

✈ Short Information

The Indian Air Force (IAF) invites online applications from Indian citizens (Men and Women) for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT 01/2026) to join as Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officers in Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branches, including NCC Special Entry.
The courses will commence in January 2027, and the online examination will be held on 31 January 2026 (Saturday).

Apply online between 17 November 2025 (1100 hrs) and 14 December 2025 (2330 hrs).

• Application Start: 17 November 2025 (11:00 AM)

• Last Date to Apply Online: 14 December 2025 (11:30 PM)

• Admit Card Available: 22 January 2026 (from 11:00 AM)

• AFCAT Exam Date: 31 January 2026 (Saturday)

• Course Commencement: January 2027

🎂 Age Limit (as on 01.01.2027)

• Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years (born between 02.01.2003 – 01.01.2007)
  Upper age limit 26 years for candidates holding a valid DGCA Commercial Pilot License.

• Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical): 20 to 26 years (born between 02.01.2001 – 01.01.2007)

Marital Status: Unmarried candidates only.

🎓 Educational Qualifications (Post-wise)

Flying Branch

• 10+2 with 50% marks each in Physics & Maths

• Graduation (3-year degree) with 60% marks OR BE/B.Tech (4-year course) OR Section A & B of AMIE / Aeronautical Society of India with 60% marks

Ground Duty (Technical)

• 10+2 with 50% marks each in Physics & Maths

• Minimum 4-year degree in relevant Engineering disciplines

  • AE (Electronics): Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, Communication, AI, Data Science, IT, etc.

  • AE (Mechanical): Mechanical, Aeronautical, Mechatronics, Production, Power, Automobile, etc.

Ground Duty (Non-Technical)

• Weapon Systems (WS): Graduation with 60% marks in any discipline OR BE/B.Tech

• Administration & Logistics: Graduation with 60% marks

• Accounts: B.Com / BBA (Finance) / BMS (Finance) / Qualified CA, CMA, CS, or CFA

• Education: Post-Graduation with 50% and Graduation with 60%

• Meteorology: B.Sc. (Physics & Maths) or Engineering degree with 60% marks in related disciplines

💰 Application Fee

• AFCAT Entry: ₹550 + GST (non-refundable)

• NCC Special Entry: No Fee

🧭 Selection Process & Syllabus

• Online Examination (AFCAT) – 31 January 2026

  • Subjects: English, General Awareness, Numerical Ability, Reasoning & Military Aptitude

  • Duration: 2 hours | 100 Questions | 300 Marks

  • Negative marking: 1 mark for each wrong answer

• AFSB Interview (Air Force Selection Board)

• Medical Examination

Syllabus Highlights

• English: Comprehension, Grammar, Vocabulary

• GK: History, Polity, Science, Defence, Current Affairs

• Maths: Percentage, Ratio, Time & Distance, Profit-Loss

• Reasoning: Verbal & Non-Verbal

• Aadhaar Card is mandatory for registration.

• Candidates must verify eligibility before applying.

• Multiple applications with the same Aadhaar will be rejected.

• Admit Cards will be available online only.

• No TA/DA will be provided for attending AFSB tests.

• The final merit list will depend on AFCAT score, AFSB performance & medical fitness.
