Tamil Nadu TNTET 2026 Notification for Working Teachers – Apply Online | Exam Date, Syllabus, Eligibility

Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB), Tamil Nadu has released Notification No.01/2026 dated 13.02.2026 for conducting Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) 2026 – For Working Teachers Only.

This TET is applicable only for currently working teachers appointed on or before 01.09.2025 in Government, Government Aided and Recognized Private Schools in Tamil Nadu.

✔ Exam Date: 04 & 05 July 2026

Candidates must be:

• Working Teachers appointed on or before 01.09.2025
• Working as:
• SGT (Secondary Grade Teacher)
• BT Assistant
• BRTE
• Special Education Teachers (IEDSS)
• Other Equivalent Cadres
• Working on:
• Time Scale
• Consolidated Pay
• Part-Time Basis
• Under:
• Government Schools
• Government Aided Schools
• Recognized Private Schools
• Various Departments like MBC, ADW, TWD, Chennai/Coimbatore/Madurai Corporation, Forest Dept, Differently Abled Dept etc.

✔ Self-finance unit teachers of aided schools are also eligible.

📝 TNTET Paper I

(For Secondary Grade Teachers / Primary School Headmasters)

Key Points:

• Based on syllabus of Classes I–V
• Standard up to Secondary Stage

(For BT Assistants / Middle School Headmasters)

Key Points:

• Based on Classes VI–VIII syllabus
• Standard up to Higher Secondary Stage
