Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Tuljapur Off-Campus invites online applications for Project Positions on Contract Basis under the research project titled:
“Baseline Survey of Mining-Affected Communities in Yavatmal District: A Multi-Sectoral Assessment of Socio-Economic and Environmental Impacts on Vulnerable Populations”, in collaboration with the District Mineral Foundation Trust, Government of Maharashtra.

📌 Posts & Vacancy Details
Research Officer
- Vacancies: 01 (May increase)
- Duration: 03 Months
- Remuneration: ₹50,000/- per month (Consolidated) + travelling expenses during data collection (public transport)
- Age Limit: Preferably below 45 years
Educational Qualification
- M.Sc / MA / MS
- M.Phil / Ph.D candidates will be preferred
- Knowledge of basic statistical techniques and software such as STATA / SPSS
Responsibilities
- Designing data collection tools, questionnaires, FGDs
- Conducting household surveys, FGDs, case studies, secondary data review
- Field visits in Yavatmal District (Maharashtra)
- Data analysis, tabulation, interpretation
- Report writing and documentation
- Conducting qualitative interviews with key stakeholders
- Assisting Project Director in preparation of draft reports
Research Assistant
- Vacancies: 05
- Duration: 04 Months
- Remuneration: ₹30,000/- per month (Consolidated) + travelling expenses
- Age Limit: Preferably below 30 years
Educational Qualification
- MA in Social Work / Rural Development / Sociology / Economics
OR
- Postgraduate degree in any discipline
- Knowledge of data entry using statistical software
Responsibilities
- Data collection through surveys, FGDs, case studies
- Field visits across districts of Maharashtra
- Identification of key informants
- Conducting qualitative interviews and FGDs
Research Intern
- Vacancies: 05
- Duration: 04 Months
- Remuneration: ₹10,000/- per month + travelling expenses
- Age Limit: Up to 30 years
Educational Qualification
- Any Graduation
OR
- MA / MSW (Pursuing)
Responsibilities
- Household surveys, FGDs, case studies
- Field visits in Yavatmal District
- Qualitative interviews and stakeholder interactions
Admin-cum-Account Assistant
- Vacancies: 01
- Duration: 03 Months (extendable by 02 months)
- Remuneration: ₹20,000/- per month
- Age Limit: Below 45 years
Educational Qualification
- B.Com with minimum 01 year experience in accounting
- English Typing: 30 wpm
- Marathi Typing: 30 wpm
- MSCIT (Computer Literacy) mandatory
- Tally certificate preferred
Skills & Responsibilities
- Accounts management, bill processing, advances
- Typing reports and office documentation
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience in ERP environment preferred
🗣️ Language Requirement (All Posts)
- Good written and oral communication skills in Marathi and English
- Preference to candidates proficient in Marathi, especially for report writing and field documentation
