Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess any one of the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree from Science Faculty, OR
- Bachelor in Fire Engineering, OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering
AND
- Passed Divisional Officer Course from National Fire College, Nagpur, OR
- Minimum 3 months senior supervisory training from a Central Government recognized institution

Experience Required
- Minimum 12 years of experience in the fire fighting field
- At least 2 years in a senior supervisory post (Pay Level-11 or equivalent)
- Remaining experience in Pay Level-7 / 9 / equivalent
- Experience certificate issued by the controlling officer is mandatory
- Candidates from Central Government / other States with Pay Level-8 or 10 experience are eligible (for non-supervisory period)
Age Limit (as on 01 August 2025)
- Minimum Age: 40 Years
- Maximum Age: 55 Years
Age Relaxation:
- Bihar Government employees: 5 years
- Ex-servicemen: 3 years + service period (maximum age 57 years)
- Retirement age: 60 years
Application Fee
- ₹100 Application Fee
- ₹200 additional Biometric Fee (if Aadhaar not submitted)
- Bank charges extra (if applicable)
Selection Process
Selection will be based on 100 Marks, distributed as follows:
- Academic Qualification: 50 Marks
- Work Experience: 20 Marks
- Interview: 30 Marks
Screening test may be conducted if applications are high.
Document Verification is mandatory before the interview.
