SBI Recruitment 2026 – Retired Officers as FLC Counsellors & Directors

Short Information: The State Bank of India (SBI) has officially released the SBI Recruitment Notification 2026 for the engagement of retired bank officials on a contractual basis. A total of 257 vacancies have been announced for the posts of Financial Literacy Counsellor (FLC) and Financial Literacy Director (FLC) across various SBI circles in India.

The online application process started on 5 February 2026 and will remain open till 26 February 2026 on the official SBI careers portal.

SBI Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

Post-Wise Eligibility

Age Limit (as on 31 January 2026)

• Minimum Age: 60 years
• Maximum Age: 63 years
• Maximum Engagement Age: 65 years
• No age relaxation for reserved categories

Essential Skills (Both Posts)

• Proficiency in the local language (reading, writing & speaking)
• Working knowledge of computers
• Must own and use a smartphone

Specific Conditions

For Retired SBI Officials

• Must have retired on superannuation at 60 years
• VRS candidates eligible only if retired at 58+ years with 30+ years of service
• No major punishment in the last 5 years of service
• No pending CBI or vigilance cases
• Good health, integrity, and service record

For Retired PSB/RRB Officers

• Must have retired on superannuation
• Voluntary retirement/resignation cases not eligible
• Must possess strong operational knowledge
• Clean service record and medical fitness required

SBI Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process

The selection process consists of:

1.    Shortlisting – Based on criteria decided by SBI

2.    Interview – 100 marks

3.    Final Merit List – Prepared circle-wise and category-wise

o   In case of tie, older candidate will be ranked higher

Candidates must attend the interview at their own expense.
