Short Information : The Supreme Court of India (SCI), New Delhi has released the official notification for the recruitment of Court Master (Shorthand) 2025 for 30 posts. The online application form will be available from 30 August 2025 and the last date to apply is 15 September 2025. Eligible candidates with a Law Degree, Shorthand proficiency (120 w.p.m.), and required experience can apply online through the official website.

Post Name: Court Master (Shorthand)
Eligibility Criteria (as on 01-07-2025)
- Educational Qualification:
- Degree in Law from a recognized University in India.
- Proficiency in English Shorthand (120 w.p.m.).
- Knowledge of Computer Operation with typing speed of 40 w.p.m.
- Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ regular service as Private Secretary / Senior PA / PA / Senior Stenographer in Govt. / PSU / Statutory Bodies.
Scheme of Examination
1. Shorthand (English) Test
o Speed: 120 w.p.m. for 7 minutes
o Transcription: 45 minutes
o Max Marks: 100 | Qualifying: 50
2. Objective Written Test (100 Questions – 2 hours)
o General English – 25
o General Knowledge – 25
o Judiciary Provisions in Indian Constitution – 25
o Supreme Court Rules, 2013 – 15
o Computer Knowledge – 10
o Max Marks: 100 | Qualifying: 50 (Gen), 45 (Reserved)
3. Typing Speed Test on Computer
o Speed: 40 w.p.m. | Duration: 10 minutes
o Max Marks: 20 | Qualifying: 10 (Gen), 5 (Reserved)
4. Interview
o Max Marks: 30 | Qualifying: 15 (Gen), 13 (Reserved)
Extra Weightage: Candidates with Law Degree (BGL/LLB) will get +3 Marks.
Pay Scale
- Salary: ₹67,700/- (Level-11 as per 7th CPC)
