SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2026 for 25,487 Vacancies in CAPFs, SSF & Assam Rifles

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the Constable (General Duty) Examination 2026 for recruitment in BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, SSF and Assam Rifles.
The recruitment will include Computer Based Examination (CBE), PET/PST, Medical Examination and Document Verification.
A total of 25,487 vacancies have been announced for male and female candidates across India.

• Online Application Start Date: 01 December 2025

• Last Date to Apply: 31 December 2025 (23:00)

• Last Date for Online Fee Payment: 01 January 2026 (23:00)

• Application Correction Window: 08–10 January 2026 (23:00)

• Computer Based Exam (CBE): February – April 2026

• “GENDER BALANCE POLICY”: Women candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

🎯 Age Limit

As on 01 January 2026

• Minimum Age: 18 years

• Maximum Age: 23 years
  (Born between 02.01.2003 to 01.01.2008)

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST: +5 years

• OBC: +3 years

• Ex-servicemen: +3 years (after deducting military service)

• 1984 riots victims & dependents: 5–10 years based on category

🎓 Educational Qualifications

• Matriculation / 10th Pass from a recognized Board on or before 01 January 2026.

• Open & Distance Learning (ODL) certificates allowed only if approved by UGC-DEB.

• ₹100 for General/OBC/EWS

• No Fee for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/Women

• Payment Mode: UPI, Net Banking, Debit/Credit Cards

🧪 Selection Process & Syllabus

1. Computer Based Exam (CBE) – 160 Marks

• 80 Questions × 2 Marks each

• Negative Marking: –0.25

• Duration: 60 minutes

• Languages: English, Hindi + 13 Regional Languages

Exam Pattern:

• General Intelligence & Reasoning – 20 Q / 40 marks

• General GK & Awareness – 20 Q / 40 marks

• Elementary Mathematics – 20 Q / 40 marks

• English/Hindi – 20 Q / 40 marks

Minimum Qualifying Marks:

• UR: 30%

• OBC/EWS: 25%

• Others: 20%

2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

For Male Candidates:

• Race: 5 km in 24 minutes

• (Ladakh) 1.6 km in 7 minutes

For Female Candidates:

• Race: 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes

• (Ladakh) 800m in 5 minutes

3. Physical Standard Test (PST)

Male Height: 170 cm (relaxation applicable)
Female Height: 157 cm (relaxation applicable)
Male Chest: 80–85 cm (relaxation applicable)

4. Medical Examination (DME/RME)

• Eye standards

• Hearing test

• General medical fitness

5. Document Verification

• 10th certificate

• Domicile certificate (mandatory for state-wise vacancies)

• Caste certificate (if applicable)

• NCC certificate (if applicable)

📝 How to Apply

• Apply through https://ssc.gov.in or mySSC mobile app

• One-Time Registration (OTR) required

• Upload live photograph & scanned signature

• Choose exam centre, domicile state/district, and force preference (all 7 mandatory)

• Submit form and pay fee

⚠️ Other Important Instructions

• Vacancies in CAPFs are state/UT-wise, based on domicile.

• Candidates must carefully fill domicile state & district, otherwise candidature will be cancelled.

• No corrections allowed after second correction attempt.

• Admission certificates will be available online only.

• Final merit list based on CBE normalized marks + NCC bonus, subject to PET/PST and medical fitness.
