The Azim Premji Scholarship is an initiative by the Azim Premji Foundation aimed at helping girl students from underprivileged backgrounds pursue higher education. The scholarship offers financial support during the first undergraduate degree/diploma and ensures encouragement and equitable access for those who qualify.

What the Scholarship Offers

• Amount: INR 30,000 per year

• Duration: Full duration of the first undergraduate degree or diploma (2-5 years, depending on course)

• Target Group: Girls from disadvantaged backgrounds to help cover education costs

Why it Matters

For many girls from disadvantaged backgrounds, the cost of higher education can be a barrier. This scholarship helps reduce that barrier and enables more girls to access undergraduate or diploma education by providing financial support, ensuring that education becomes more inclusive.

Who is Eligible

You must meet all of the following:

1. Be a girl student who has passed Class 10 and Class 12 as a regular student from a government school or college in one of the eligible States/Union Territories.

2. Be admitted in the first year (Session 2025-26) of a recognised undergraduate degree or diploma programme (2-5 years) at a government or bona fide private college/university in India. This should be your first such degree/diploma after Class 12.

3. States/UTs that are eligible:
   Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand.

Who is Not Eligible

• If you are in the second or later year of your undergraduate degree or diploma.

• If you are pursuing the degree in distance education or non-regular mode.

• If you already have a degree/diploma before Session 2025-26.

• If you have received certain other scholarships (like Wipro’s Santoor Scholarship) in the past.

Documents Required

To apply online, you’ll need scanned/soft-copies of:

• Recent passport-size colour photo (front face, last 6 months)

• Signature on plain white paper

• Aadhaar card (front side with visible name, photo, DOB, gender)

• Bank account passbook or statement showing name, account number, IFSC, branch clearly

• Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets

• Proof of admission in first year (college admission receipt or bonafide certificate showing course, university, year, etc.)

Make sure all documents are clear, unedited, no filters or emojis, and in accepted formats (PDF/PNG/JPG).

Application Process & Deadline

• How to Apply: Submit your application online through the Azim Premji Scholarship portal. There is no fee for applying.

• Renewal: If you’re renewing, follow renewal guidelines before the deadline.

• Deadline for New Applicant (2025 cohort): up to 30 September 2025

• Deadline for Renewal (2024-25 cohort): Extended up to 15 October 2025

• Important: Beware of frauds. The Foundation doesn’t charge any fee at any stage, and all application steps are free.
