The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for conducting the Grade “C” Stenographers Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) 2025. The examination is meant for eligible serving Stenographer Grade ‘D’ officials of various Central Government services to fill Grade “C” Stenographer vacancies for the recruitment year 2025. Applications must be submitted online only through the SSC portal.

🎓 Eligibility Conditions (Summary)

  • Applicant must be a regularly appointed Stenographer Grade ‘D’
  • Minimum approved service varies by cadre (3 to 6 years)
  • Must possess computer literacy
  • Crucial date for counting service: 01 July 2025

📝 Selection Process

Selection will be conducted in three stages:

🔹 Part-A: Computer Based Examination (200 Marks)

  • General Awareness – 100 Marks
  • English Language & Comprehension – 100 Marks
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Negative marking: 0.25 mark per wrong answer

🔹 Part-B: Stenography Skill Test (200 Marks)

  • Dictation speed: 100 WPM
  • Medium: English or Hindi
  • Transcription on computer

🔹 Part-C: Evaluation of Service Records

  • APAR evaluation (up to 100 Marks)

📌 Final merit is based on combined performance.

2.     Complete One Time Registration (OTR) on new SSC portal

3.     Fill online application form

4.     Submit application online

5.     Print the application and forward it through proper channel

6.     Ensure it reaches SSC (NR) within the prescribed deadline

📌 Applications not forwarded by the Head of Office / Department will be rejected.
